Ambrosial Amritsar, at the Fairfield by Marriott , India
We were welcomed at the Amritsar airport by a blast of hot air, walking into 47 degree C heat, we entered chaos... strange smells, a crowd of people shouting and traffic congestion. Soon we found our taxi driver and we couldn't wait to see the ethereal Golden Temple.
At check-in we met Head Chef Harpal Singh at the Fairfield by Marriott, he immediately understood Krish's dietary requirements and went to the storeroom to find brand new crockery, cutlery and cooking equipment. He made a delicious vegetarian Chinese Fried Noodle which delighted not only Krish but gave us all energy for the evening.
After purchasing a few items in the famous Amritsar markets we drove to the Golden Temple. We were blessed by the rain as we walked towards the temple, the lightening flashed in the sky and we were drenched, but enjoyed the ambience, the reverberating sounds of Waheguru mantras and the sweet smell of Karah Prasad.
The one hour queue moved at a snails pace. It soon became dark by the time we reached the entrance of the temple and were allowed to enter for our Darshan.
We felt the power of a higher being and an overwhelming sense of peace.
The beauty of the interior at the Golden Temple was breathtaking!
Its amazing how many times the temple has been destroyed since its foundation in 1604 and rebuilt with resilience. "Harmandir Sahib" or "Darbar Sahib", literally means the "Abode of God".
We climbed the stairs to the top of the temple and were transfixed at the magnificence of its ethereal beauty.
"Thankyou Waheguru for all your blessings!"
After our two-hour Darshan we reached the Hotel at 11pm, we were famished and immediately
the kitchen staff and Chef Harpal took control. Our son Krish was thrilled to have a freshly made soup, a crispy crust vegetarian pizza with specially prepared dough and a memorable mango panna cotta!!

The next day Krish enjoyed his first ever Kulcha stuffed with paneer, onion and coriander, it was so delicious he asked for another to be packed for his flight home along with a creamy spinach and mushroom penne pasta, which again was another tasty dish made with a personal touch and lots of affection by Chef Harpal.
Thanks so much Chef Harpal for your personal care with Krish's food preparation and some delectable dishes, he will never forget!!

Thanks so much it's my pleasure to met you and served you
