Sensational Dining at Stones Hotel Legian - Bali

After a long drive from the airport fighting the congested roads of Bali, we reached Kuta late afternoon.  Upon check-in at the Stones Hotel - Legian Bali (A Marriott Autograph Collection) we were warmly greeted by the Food and Beverage (F&B) Manager and Chef Joachim Kreisel.

The F&B Manager and Chef Joachim were extremely professional and advised us the entire kitchen staff were alerted regarding our son Krish's multiple food allergies; and a separate area had been set up in the hotel kitchen for preparation of Krish's meals. We were delighted with the personal attention and felt completely assured the staff of the Stones Hotel would ensure Krish's dining experience would be safe and enjoyable.

The warm, sunny Bali weather invited us into the pool each morning with beautiful views of the luxurious cool waters and bright, blue skies from our room, we were tempted for a quick dip, before hitting the shops and spending millions of Indonesian Rupiah.

Krish was thrilled with the delectable dishes served by Chef Joachim, soups, salads and the best Chicken Schnitzel and Baked potato with sour cream and chives he had ever tasted in his life! We were wowed with Chef Joachim's desserts too, his rich dark chocolate mousse and apple strudel- a popular dessert in Germany, created specially for Krish in little delicate, scrumptious parcels of delight.

Furthermore, Chef Joachim made Krish his first ever Oatmeal with raisins which he enjoyed along with freshly baked croissants followed by chocolate danish the next morning. A wonderful cheese and fruit platter with a blueberry yoghurt
was the perfect combination to get Krish's battery charged for a day full of activity.

In consultation with Krish, the Chefs also custom made a lovely chocolate and strawberry layered cake and surprised us on our anniversary.

We also met Chef Alit who made a lovely pizza, pasta, spaghetti bolognaise and took Krish down a road never travelled - Indonesian Cuisine.  Ayam Taliwang - Indonesian spicy chicken with rice, was specially prepared for Krish's dinner one evening, he enjoyed it so much he wanted a repeat the next day! Not to mention the famous Indonesian Pisang Goreng (Fried Banana) with honey, which Krish indulged in for dessert.

Beyond our expectations was of course the best dish Krish exclaimed, he has eaten his entire life was the Beef Wellington, prepared by Chef Alit. A well done seasoned beef fillet wrapped in layers of pastry with delicious mushroom sauce and steamed vegetables....was sheer delight and Krish could not forget the experience for the entire day....he was so thrilled...the sense of affection and perfection that created the dish was something he will never forget.

Another dish made with love and perfection was the Baked Spinach and Ricotta Cannelloni. A perfect heart warming dinner to enjoy after a tiring day visiting Ubud, the famous Bali temples, the Silver factory, the Luwak Coffee Plantation and the Monkey Forest.

We wish to thank from the bottom of our hearts, Chef Joachim, Chef Alit the F&B Manager and the entire kitchen and service staff who took care of us during our stay at the Stones Hotel, Legian Bali. We were thoroughly pampered by all and felt like royalty during our stay, the cosy beds, wonderful chocolate oil body massages, the warmth, sincerity and personal hospitality by all staff made our holiday in Bali an experience we will treasure forever.

Big Thankyou to Chef Joachim and Chef Alit
